Our members are mostly people with English roots, but we also welcome those from other parts of Britain and elsewhere who share our interest in England to join as full members. We hold social events throughout the year to celebrate our English heritage within the Canadian context.

We believe in supporting Canada's links with England such as our parliamentary democracy, common law, language, freedoms, business structures, and especially our common allegiance to Her Majesty the Queen, who is our Society's patron and the Head of State of both the United Kingdom and Canada.

Our Society was originally founded over 100 years ago, and was re-activated in 1987. We maintain links with other British societies throughout Canada and around the world.

About Us:
The objectives of The Society as laid down in its Royal Charter are:
1. To foster the love of England and to strengthen England and the Commonwealth by spreading the knowledge of English history, traditions and ideals.
2. To keep fresh the memory of those in all walks of life, who have served England or the Commonwealth in the past, to inspire leadership in the future.
3. To combat all activities likely to undermine the strength of England or the Commonwealth.
4. To further English interest everywhere to ensure that St. George's Day is properly celebrated and to provide focal points all the world over where English men and women may gather together.

Today I saw the flag of England,  fluttering from a mast,
It waved in recognition, to the glories of the past,
It beckoned to the future, and seemed to say aloud,
If you should be an Englishman, look up my son, be proud.
Let hope still be your anvil, and courage be your forge
And come what may, let men still say,
Cry "God for Elizabeth, England and St. George"!
